PLEASE ENSURE THAT HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE, I.E. DIRTY DIAPERS, WAX-COATED MILK OR JUICE CARTONS, AND STYROFOAM PRODUCTS ARE TAKEN TO THE LOCAL LANDFILL SITE. PLEASE DO NOT BRING HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE TO RECYCLING.
 
 ALL MATERIALS MUST BE SEPARATED
        If you are unsure where to place a certain product, please ask the attendant for help. 
   Materials accepted for recycling at the
in-town depot and landfill site are:
 
Williams Avenue North Depot
 
ALUMINUM CANS:rinse
* Pop & beer cans
STEEL CANS: remove labels, rinse
*All food cans

GLASS:
rinse; no need to remove labels
*Liquor bottles
*Food jars

CARDBOARD:
remove plastic and tape; flatten
*Corrugated cardboard
*Residential cardboard (product packaging such as cereal boxes)

OFFICE PAPER:
keep free of contamination by other garbage; bag all shredded paper
*All office papers typically found on a desk (including all envelopes, bond paper, file folders; but excluding carbon paper)

NEWSPRINT:
keep dry, request no bagging or bundling
*Newspapers
*Flyers
*Catalogues & magazines
*Telephone books

PLASTICS:
remove lids, rinse, check number on the bottom of the container
*Type 1 – Example: pop bottles
*Type 2 – Example: milk & bleach jugs, some vitamin, detergent, shampoo & cleaning supply bottles, and some margarine containers
*Type 4 – rigid #4 plastics only

NOTE: We do NOT accept plastic bags or wax milk or juice containers.

LOCATED 2 MILES EAST OF SHUR-GRO, THEN 1 MILE NORTH

HOURS: Mon – Fri 8 am to 4:45 pm (closed 11:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. & holidays)

April 1st to Sept. 15th
Tues./Thurs. 7 pm to 9:00 pm

ALL LOADS GOING TO THE DUMP ARE TO BE COVERED to prevent littering and materials should be separated for ease of placement in correct locations at landfill. Please ask attendant where to place specific recyclables.

BATTERIES:
*Used wet-cell (ie. car) batteries

METALS:
*All scrap metals
*Wire (Please place on the “wire pile”.)
OIL FILTERS: Place in appropriate drums provided at the site.
* Used engine oil filters
*Used hydraulic oil filters

OILS: uncontaminated by antifreeze, solvents, gas or diesel fuel
*Used gear oil
*Used hydraulic oil
*Used gear oil
 
OTHER LIQUIDS:
*Used antifreeze
*Used solvents
 
PLASTICS:
*Chemical, pesticide & fertilizer containers
*Oil containers
 
TIRES:removed from rim
*All used tires
