The local recycling depot in conjunction with Southwest Community Options is pleased to announce that they will now start to collect e-waste. The e-waste program accepts TV’s, VCR’s, stereos, microwaves, telephones, cell phones, computer equipment, fax machines, photocopiers, vacuums, eye glasses, floppy disks, CD’s, ink cartridges, toner, and grocery bags. Electronic waste is extremely toxic when not disposed of in an approved manner.
E-waste will be accepted Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Recycling Depot. Please contact one of the staff members to assist you in placing these materials in the appropriate place.
We continue to collect glass, tin, aluminum, plastic, cardboard, newsprint, and paper. Please help out by removing labels from tin cans, rinse out all glass, tin, and plastic containers. Please remove lids from plastic containers. Shredded paper can be bagged and placed in the paper bin.
Please ensure that household garbage, i.e. dirty diapers, wax coated milk or juice cartons, and Styrofoam products are taken to the local landfill site.
At the landfill site we accept old fridges, freezers, and air conditioners with the freon removed and the appropriate sticker in place. We also accept used oil, oil containers, and oil filters at our licensed depot.
If you are currently on a recycling program we thank you. If not we would encourage your participation.

- it takes one million years for a glass bottle to break down in a landfill
- recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to run your television for three hours
- when one ton of steel is recycled, 2500 pounds of iron ore, 1400 pounds of coal, and
